There is a world where after Saturday night we're up to 3rd in the Tankathon standings, with ANA and CBJ 2 and 4 points back of us, respectively. Maybe once the Marleau jersey retirement glow wears off we'll finally start making the trades we need to make in order to complete the tank. I'm starting to think they are close to moving Timo. Whatever is ailing him I am sure he could play through it if a deal wasn't eminent. Hope I am wrong but his sitting isn't passing the smell test with me. |

Guess they've seen all the pushback AZ got from sitting Chychrun for trade-related reasons and didn't want to go exactly that route. He probably just took a bump to the shoulder and is waiting for 100% of the pain to be gone. Seems reasonable!  |

I mentioned it in the other thread but during the retirement ceremony at City Hall Becher joked that he was announcing a trade and then said something to the effect of "I'm just kidding, today's Patty's day." My interpretation was that we're waiting until after Saturday to finalize any trades. |

It’s actually possible the deal is already complete and they won’t file it with the league till after the jersey retirement.

I have feeling about this too we will se the main problem for me is the Tank needs fuel to move up a place. But loosing to Chicago on Pattys day its just unacceptable thought for me so i hope Hertls gets a hat trick or something special happen to be a good memory. |

One can hope He's allegedly already agreed to waive his NTC for EDM. I've seen a few opinions from folks - who would have more insight than I do - that believe a deal happens over the summer. Agree though that he was definitely not looking like he had a good time last night. |

He had a bad game. I'm OK with a player being pissed at themselves for not playing well. It shows that they still care. If they have a bad game and just shrug it off, then I'd be worried. |

I wonder why the NHL, and especially the DoPeS, don’t do more to curb CDR’s behavior. We all know them to be institutions that operate under the highest integrity.

It’s almost draconian in its unwavering rigidity to mete out fairness! It’s all but dictatorial in its insistence on transparently disclosing its always fair judgments. Sadly when it comes to the CBA they argue big ticket items and the fines and suspensions are far enough down the list that the owners won't fight it.
Many of us have argued until the players have to think and hesitate about head hunting hits, dirty play, etc nothing will change. That wasn't close to Marchand's worst dirty play but if he'd been suspended for prior ones (say 10 games per minimum) and he's a repeat offender, this one would be another 10 games. If that was the case, this would have never happened.
$5,000? I make millions, who cares. Sitting out 10 games not only screws your bank account but damages your team in the standings because of your stupidity

I think it was back in the 90s, Yosemite had a major black bear problem. Due to humans all but welcoming the bears to picnic with us, bears were raiding camps: food on tables or ice chests, food (in)secured in inadequate storage, garbage cans, cars that contained a single, unopened candy bar, tents, and then eventually tents with people sleeping in them. I don’t know if it was before or after several human deaths, but the park started to seriously crack down on it through education and fines. Your car was damaged by a bear that found an unopened tube of toothpaste in it? Not only do you have to cover your vehicle damage, but you’ll be heavily fined by the park. They no longer have a black bear problem.
