To the Rangers: Tarasenko (50% retained) and Niko Mikkola To the Blues: Sammy Blais, Hunter Skinner, 2023 1st (the later of either NYR or DAL), 2024 4th (if the Rangers make the playoffs it jumps to a 3rd).

That's likely another team out of the running for Timo Meier. I think it's probably a fair deal because with Tarasenko's trade request it was unlikely he was going to re-sign there plus his NTC limited the return and on the other end I expect this will be a rental for the Rangers.

Yep no chance Timo, at the TDL, goes to NYR now.

Hey dilacerated, I was just gonna search for news on Kane & Toews, so thanks. Tanking aside, I think the best thing for the Sharks is to wait for the season to end and then if someone wants Timo, we can benefit with compensation picks. Hopefully. Right now that $10 million offer sheet looks like a problem. I still think someone might want Cooch for the playoffs, though. We'll see.

I dont mind the Rangers out thoeritacaly they still can make Meier possible but looks like price is to high and it should be. Let Buffalo and New Jersey make the bidding war they both can resign Meier comfortably and have better assets aswell. If they don't ponny up then just resign Meier or wait for the offseason, if we win with some miracle Bedard or Fantili, not one current player will want to leave this team. In two years the Sharks could be good again then if we don't get a number 1/2 pick then just try to trade Meier for like 5-7 pick + stuff like DeBrincat last year.

I get that, I'd just prefer there be more demand as it can lead to a higher price.

This is a decent price for a 31 year old rental how public announced he's gone leave for a 1st a 3rd and some throw ins. Btw the VAN trade looks worser beacause of this, Lou did got a top 6 center for 8 years for decent price for just a litlebit more.

If I am GM who wants to make the playoffs this year or next year because my team is opening it's competitive window now like Buffalo, Jersey, Ottawa, Seattle , Los Angeles and there is an opportunity to get a 1st line two way power forward who can put Point/per game and score 40 goals for 8 years i am not hanging up the phone until i got it all my last year draft guys and this years pick is on the table for trade, i want my team to get better now and not in 2-4 years. I am not trading any young roster players thats for sure or players that are in my system for 2+ years. At least 4 teams shouldbe intrested in Meier, + younger contenders like Carolina, Colorado, Dallas. I am not worryng there is no interest in him. GMMG should hold steady and ask for a ransom, if nobody pays just keep him. Btw Ottawa would offer the DeBrincat deal in heartbeat if they could get Meier for that price, and I hope GMMG would say no and ask for more.
