SJHN articleOver Thanksgiving his dad was hanging Christmas lights and fell off a ladder and he was in a medically induced coma for over two months. Kevin's wife is also pregnant and due to give birth this coming Monday, so he's had a lot of non-hockey related things on his mind. His dad is walking and talking so he's making good progress towards being better.

For all the talking we do about how these are professional athletes who need to perform better, do better, work harder, etc., etc., these two experiences would explain a lot about Labanc's recent issues. |

Wow had not heard any of this. From fighting injury to get back to the team sucking as a whole to this = I get it now. Yes, this is a surprise. I think the Sharks should do what they did when Dom Moore's wife was diagnosed as terminal, i.e., put him on leave, or however it can be done within the CBA. Of course, Kevin may not want that, either. |
