The Blues Get:
2023 First Round Pick.
2024 Second Round Pick
2023 Third Round Pick
Mikael Abramov
Adam Gaudette
Minnesota gets
2025 4th round pick (to retain 25% of O'Reilly's salary)
The Leafs Get:
Ryan O'Reilly
Noel Acciari
Josh Pillar
What is your toughts about this guys?
A pure rental center fetched the Blues a 3 picks thats an interesting trade. I am pretty optimistic this will drive the price up for Meier.

Don't think this puts Toronto over the hump...ROR is and always was a good but not difference maker type player, 1 good playoff run doesn't change that. I think hindsight TOR will want all those picks back for a rental after they lose to TB again.
Hopefully does up the price for Timo, Timo is a difference maker. I just hope that GMMG takes a good trade, rather than wait and hope someone offers an insane trade. Timo's value is highest right now, will be decent at draft, but goes way down hill next year.

I was puzzled by this move initially vs. them getting Timo but the salary retention for a possible rental player that has a good track record in the playoffs is likely what made it happen.

It's worth noting that the Leafs were also targeting Acciari. Searching for trade value for him I came up with a bunch of stuff talking about the already completed trade but found one Hockey Writers article suggesting the Bruins give up a 2024 4th and a prospect (Jack Ahcan). Vegas Hockey Now had an article talking about the Fuck Vegas and Oilers being in on him too with a mid round pick as the price. There's also speculation that this hurts the price for Timo because Toronto, NYR, and NYI are likely out as candidates for him now. Fewer targets for teams to pick up, but fewer destinations for him as well.

Fewer targets actualy we need 2 team's who wants him really badly and we are good to go. I really hope besides the devils is not Carolina rather Buffalo or Winnipeg. Btw if loose the next 5 games or so man I would leaning to keep him more and more, if the team just drops to the last spot before the Deadline and get a real realistic odds to get Bedard then its harder and harder to trade Meier in my perspective. Bedard/Fantili needs good wingers who can protect them a bit and learn from them + shorter rebuild time if you keep Timo. This 2 weeks will be really interesting I hope EK65 will be moved that would fuel the tank and the rebuild aswell.
