In case anyone's curious, that's 4.5M cap hit this year and next year. Honestly surprising it was that cheap. Marleau's $6.25M for 1 year cost a first (13th overall, Seth Jarvis, though that wasn't expected to be as early). It did also include moving up from the 6th to the 7th round and it's worth noting that it was purely to be bought out by Marleau whereas Zaitsev will probably actually play.

I would say thats on year and liltle for 4.5M cap, 40ish pick in the draft vs the Marleau's 6.25 23+ pick is around that price + Toronto needed cap space way more then Ottawa does now. Btw why are they opening up cap? They want Karlsson back or what is going on? They are trading for someone thats for sure.
