I was happy to discover that this forum allows traditional BBCode forum tags for inserting links and whatnot. Other forums I have used disabled certain BBCode features like image resizing. Not this one. I added a signature image and found it too big. I was able to turn this: Into this without any external edits, just using the ( bracket) img width=x height=x ( close bracket) tag: Anyway, as someone who used to administrate a clunky old version of forum, I thought it would be nice to have a thread where folks could test other functionalities and share with the class. I assume a lot of people have used BBCode in forums before. I have yet to see any instructions specific to this forum software the help section here, but there are several internet resources on the subject. One way to see how they work is to edit an old post. This forum appears to have some auto-formatting that you can see when you go back and edit. Also, I believe as the forum moderator, jamnjon has access to turn individual codes use off and on if they become obtrusive, which they absolutely can. Edit: I have been doing everything from the phone and now that I have opened the site in desktop mode I see a bunch of additional tools. Still good to know the codes. Thanks again to jamnjon for taking the initiative on this.

Apparently you can reply as a guest and always have someone to agree with your posts!
Hmmm...what could go wrong?

FYI jamnjon --> unregistered users cannot post as guests in all boards. I haven't been an Admin of a FreeForum in over a decade (evidently CrowdGather bought them and then sold such to Tapatalk). I swear there is a place to configure global Guest activity.

I swear there is a place to configure global Guest activity. I figured out how to adjust it, I guess the question is do we want people to be able to post without registering? I'm fine with either way, I'm just hoping to have to do minimal actual moderating here (I don't think a ton was needed on the official site) but also want to encourage as many people from the old site to come over here. For now I'm opening it up in all areas but if it seems like it's becoming an issue I can always restrict it later.

Most of those that stuck around FTF were the civil ones.

I just posted on FTF site and my initial suggestion was I think Jamjon should decide. I'm fine either way.

I just posted on FTF site and my initial suggestion was I think Jamjon should decide. I'm fine either way. This was really meant to keep the community together and I know some of the people on the other site didn't come across to here including a few prominent posters. Assuming FtF goes back to close to what it was I'd rather have the larger community. As I said in the other thread, I won't be shutting this completely down because there's not much gained by deleting it, but if we start getting all the GDTs and whatnot back there I'll probably be 99% there.

I see a benefit to keeping this going if its not too much trouble. Erika said they'd be pretty quiet over the summer working on trying to get the other site operational and ready for next season. We might have things we want to discuss, and this place is working out great.
