I think that's too penal. A lot of the time I use the, how would you feel if this was Game 7 of the Final. Getting two chances, this league wouldn't do anything that radical. Even last night, I didn't think that was close to the most egregious breakaway penalty I've seen. Fans would flip their lid if that decided a Cup.
At least I'd feel better about that than soccer. Deciding your World Cup Final on penalty shots? That is so weak. Imagine deciding the Stanley Cup like that?

At a minimum they should expand things so the team can choose who takes the penalty shot, even if only among players who were on the ice at the time of the infraction.

Per Sheng, Timo not at practice today.
Obviously that means that he's being traded for the next 30 first overall picks. No chance at all that it's a maintenance day.

Was trying to find a site with a rolling moving average of points in the last ten and last five games. A snapshot of the moment is below. I included the Flyers because they are a "competitive" 2-5-3 in last 10. We still have a "game in hand" in reverse on everyone in the bottom six and three in hand vs chicago. If Timo is traded, can see us being legit bottom two. Is that too optimstic? Total points in last ten games for bottom 8:
8 Philadelphia 7 7 Montreal 9 6 Vancouver 9 5 Arizona 14 4 San Jose 8 3 Columbus 10 2 Anaheim 9 1 Chicago 7

I love when I read that if a team trades Player A, someone else has to score. Really? Some here and there but overall this team would struggle to score. The teams below the Sharks don't have the talent level equal to Timo / EK65 and the dropoff would be dramatic if both traded. They would be as devoid of talent as any team. Add Bonino and watch out

Apparently Toews isn't going to be traded because he's dealing with long Covid.

Fuck! That's not what you say at this time of the year. You say he's busy catching up on The Last of Us.

That could also be a less obvious way to bench him before being traded vs what Arizona is doing

Chicago beat Toronto today. The Hawks are moving closer and closer to the Sharks (in a good way)
